Indian police have refuted media reports claiming the arrest of a suspect in the alleged attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan. Over the past two days, Indian media had circulated reports suggesting that Mumbai police had apprehended the individual responsible for the assault. However, authorities have clarified that no arrests have been made so far.
According to police, the attacker attempted to mislead investigators by changing his attire. Efforts to identify the suspect are ongoing, with officials relying on CCTV footage. Police also revealed that the assailant had previously conducted reconnaissance at the residence of actor Shah Rukh Khan but was unable to gain entry due to heightened security. Following this, the suspect allegedly targeted Saif Ali Khan, attempting to break into his Bandra home.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, around 3 a.m., when the assailant tried to rob Saif’s residence. The actor resisted, prompting the attacker to stab him multiple times. Saif sustained six wounds, two of which were deep, including one near his spine. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove a 2.5-inch knife fragment lodged near his spine.
Maharashtra Chief Minister commented on the case, stating that Mumbai police have made progress in the investigation and are hopeful of a breakthrough soon. He emphasized that all efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the suspect.
Saif Ali Khan remains hospitalized, with his condition showing gradual improvement. His family and fans have expressed their support and prayers for his swift recovery.
