A Community Still Seeking Justice
One year after the shocking murder of 18-year-old Chloe Aldrovandi, the investigation into her death continues under the authority of the specialized interregional court in Marseille. The civil engineering student was shot and killed on February 15, 2025, in Ponte-Leccia, Corsica, in what authorities believe was a case of mistaken identity. The emotional impact remains profound across the island as judicial authorities work to unravel the circumstances of the tragedy.
Two Suspects Charged in Connection with Crime Preparation
To date, two men have been formally charged in connection with the case. Antoine Pellegrini, 22, and Lucas Sabiani, 29, face charges of “receiving stolen goods from an organized theft” and “participating in a criminal association with the aim of preparing a crime.”
Pellegrini was arrested on October 27, 2025, in Balagne and remains in provisional detention. Sabiani, already incarcerated for other criminal matters, was charged in this case on February 8, 2026. Notably, both men are also implicated in a separate judicial investigation concerning the murder of Camille Orsoni.
The Stolen Vehicle Trail
Investigators have focused significant attention on a stolen Peugeot 2008 from Marseille. Shortly after the shooting, a vehicle matching this description was found burned on the road to Tralonca.
According to reports, the car was spotted multiple times in the days preceding the tragedy parked near the residence of the victim’s boyfriend. Surveillance footage analysis reportedly led investigators to a storage unit rented in Calvi under Lucas Sabiani’s name, where the vehicle was allegedly first stored in November 2024.
By tracing its transport between mainland France and Corsica, police believe Antoine Pellegrini also participated in moving the vehicle.
Unanswered Questions and Ongoing Probe
Neither of the charged individuals currently faces murder charges for Aldrovandi’s death. Both deny any knowledge of a criminal plot. During proceedings for Pellegrini’s detention, his lawyers described his alleged involvement as being “on the periphery of the case,” arguing it wasn’t proven he knew of any criminal plan.
A year after the events, the investigation continues to identify the actual shooters and determine exact responsibilities in what appears to be a mistaken-identity murder set against a backdrop of criminal rivalries. Chloe Aldrovandi’s parents remain determined to keep their daughter’s memory alive until full light is shed on the circumstances of her death.
