ISLAMABAD — Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Diplomatic Enclave on Tuesday, ordering accelerated development work and a complete overhaul of security and public infrastructure in the capital’s high-security zone.
During the visit, Naqvi reviewed multiple ongoing projects and issued directives aimed at transforming the enclave into a world-class diplomatic zone. The minister emphasized that construction on the boundary wall should proceed without interruption while strictly prohibiting the cutting of any trees during project execution.
Modern Cycling and Walking Tracks Planned
The interior minister instructed officials to develop cycling and walking tracks according to contemporary urban planning standards. These recreational facilities are designed to serve both diplomatic residents and the broader community within the enclave.
Road widening projects were also ordered to improve traffic flow and accessibility throughout the area. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been tasked with implementing these infrastructure upgrades alongside other development initiatives.
Comprehensive Security Framework Ordered
Naqvi directed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Security to prepare a revised and comprehensive security plan for the Diplomatic Enclave. The new framework must address current security requirements while supporting the operational needs of diplomatic missions and residents.

Parks Restoration and International Standards
The government announced plans to restore and upgrade parks within the Diplomatic Enclave. The initiative aims to create improved public spaces that align with international standards for diplomatic zones worldwide.
Naqvi emphasized that residents of the Diplomatic Enclave must receive facilities meeting global benchmarks. The transformation strategy focuses on creating a secure, well-managed environment with enhanced infrastructure and recreational amenities.
During the briefing, CDA Chairman provided detailed updates on project timelines and implementation measures. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and other senior officials accompanied the minister during the site inspection.
The Diplomatic Enclave houses numerous foreign missions and international organizations, making its security and infrastructure development a priority for the federal government. The current initiative represents one of the most significant upgrades to the area in recent years.
