Sindh CM Orders Action on Karachi Traffic Congestion

KARACHI – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has issued strict directives to traffic police and city administration to implement immediate and effective measures to restore smooth traffic flow and eliminate congestion on Karachi’s major roads.

Taking serious notice of the worsening traffic jams across the metropolis, the chief minister has demanded a detailed report from the Karachi commissioner and the Additional Inspector General of Police regarding the long queues of vehicles that have been causing severe inconvenience to commuters.

Zero Tolerance for Public Inconvenience

Murad Ali Shah made it clear that trapping the public in traffic will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He stressed that the basic problems of citizens must be resolved without delay, and urged both traffic police and district administration to clear roads immediately.

The chief minister specifically directed authorities to restore traffic flow on key arteries including Sharjah Faisal, Karsaz, and Drug Road, which have been identified as major choke points in the city.

Utility Complaints to Be Addressed Immediately

In addition to traffic management, the chief minister also ordered K-Electric and Water Corporation officials to resolve public complaints on an urgent basis. The move signals a broader push to address the everyday hardships faced by Karachi residents, from power outages to water supply issues.

The directives come amid growing public frustration over prolonged travel times and deteriorating civic services in Pakistan’s largest city. Authorities are now expected to submit a compliance report outlining the steps taken to ease congestion and improve service delivery.
