LAHORE: The wedding celebrations for Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, commenced in grand style on Friday evening at the Sharif family’s Jati Umrah residence in Lahore. A lively and color-coordinated mehndi ceremony set a vibrant tone for the multi-day festivities.
A First Glimpse and Green-Themed Grandeur
The groom, a UK-trained lawyer, marked the occasion by sharing his first official photograph with bride-to-be Shanzeh Ali on Instagram, instantly drawing public attention. Shanzeh is the granddaughter of PML-N leader Rohail Asghar.
The evening unfolded against richly adorned traditional backdrops, awash in shades of emerald and green that defined the event’s elegant theme.

Junaid Safdar opted for a refined look in a navy HSY sherwani, layered with a coordinating brown shawl. His bride, Shanzeh, made a striking statement in a dark green Sabyasachi lehenga, intricately crafted and brightened with vibrant pops of color. Her look was completed with heavy statement jewellery and contemporary makeup by renowned artist Saad Samie.
Adding to the visual spectacle, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was also featured in shared photographs, wearing a heavily embellished yellow ensemble that complemented the green-themed décor.
