The Pakistan Stock Exchange opened Wednesday’s session under selling pressure, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index surrendering more than 600 points in early trading, a sharp reversal from the previous session’s strong gains.
Index Retreats to 168,732
At the start of the third trading session of the week, the KSE-100 Index declined by over 600 points to reach 168,732, erasing a portion of the ground recovered a day earlier.
Tuesday’s session had closed on a bullish note, with the benchmark index gaining 1,421.67 points — a positive change of 0.85 percent — to settle at 169,392.33 against 167,970.66 in the preceding session.
Volume and Value Slip
Trading activity in the ready market also moderated. The session recorded a turnover of 372.016 million shares, down from 570.472 million shares traded previously, while traded value fell to Rs17.210 billion from Rs24.672 billion.
