In an unexpected boon for many retirees, approximately 14 million French pensioners will receive two separate payments this week. The dual disbursements are set for Monday, March 3, and Friday, March 7, 2025.
This financial boost echoes a similar occurrence in February, providing additional support to retirees affiliated with the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension scheme. These individuals, primarily former private sector employees, typically receive a base pension from the Caisse nationale d’assurance vieillesse (Cnav) and a supplementary pension from Agirc-Arrco. The supplementary pension is generally disbursed on the first business day of the month. Given that March 1 falls on a Saturday this year, the payment has been scheduled for Monday, March 3.
The second payment slated for Friday, March 7, pertains to the monthly pension distributed by Cnav. This payment usually occurs on the 9th of each month unless it coincides with a weekend or public holiday. This month, as the 9th is a Sunday, the payment has been advanced to the preceding Friday. Retirees under the MSA basic scheme will also receive their pensions on this date for the same scheduling reasons.
Furthermore, retirees might notice variations in their pension amounts in March due to adjustments in the rates of mandatory social contributions, such as the CSG and CRDS. Changes in these rates can potentially lead to increases or decreases in pension amounts. Beneficiaries are advised to review their payment statements for any updates.
This week’s dual pension payments are set to provide timely financial relief to millions, aligning with the structured calendar set forth by the respective pension authorities.
