ISLAMABAD — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has confirmed that his party will proceed with its planned long march toward Islamabad on September 27, insisting the demonstration will remain entirely peaceful.
Reconciliation Doors ‘Never Closed’
In a statement, Barrister Gohar said the doors for reconciliation had never been closed, signaling that the party remains open to dialogue even as it prepares to mobilize supporters toward the capital.
“We will definitely come towards Islamabad,” he said, adding that the long march would reach the capital as planned.
March Described as ‘Festival-Like’ Gathering
The PTI chairman said stalls would be set up during the gathering and described the expected atmosphere as resembling a festival, underscoring the party’s intent to frame the event as a peaceful political mobilization rather than a confrontation.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to maintaining peace throughout the planned demonstration.
Party Says It Will Not Respond to Provocation With Violence
Earlier, Barrister Gohar said PTI was being provoked but would not respond through violence. Instead, he said, the party would continue raising its voice for the rights of its founder and supporters.
He called for PTI’s demands to be pursued through democratic means and urged the implementation of court decisions.
Questions Raised Over Demolitions
The PTI chairman also questioned the demolition of houses belonging to party supporters, saying citizens had the right to ask questions about such actions.
