Escalating Conflict Claims Hundreds of Lives
Coordinated military operations by the United States and Israel have resulted in the deaths of at least 201 Iranians, including the country’s top military leadership, according to Iranian state media. Israeli Military Claims Assassination of Supreme Leader
In a defining moment of the conflict, the Israeli military stated it had assassinated Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani, an Israeli military spokesperson, announced that strikes were continuing to establish air dominance over Tehran and dismantle air defense systems. “We have the capabilities and the targets to keep going on for as long as necessary,” Shoshani said, indicating that military-industrial sites remained on the target list. Iran launched retaliatory attacks across the region. Saudi Arabia’s air defenses intercepted missiles targeting Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and the Prince Sultan Airbase, which hosts US troops.
