A significant fire broke out in a residential building in central Paris on Monday, February 2, 2026, requiring a major emergency response. The incident occurred at 38 Rue Pastourelle in the city’s 3rd arrondissement.
Injuries and Emergency Response
According to the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP), the fire resulted in three casualties. Two people sustained minor injuries, while one individual was seriously hurt. All three were transported to a hospital for treatment.
Fire Spread and Containment
The blaze originated in a first-floor apartment of a five-story building late in the afternoon, around 4 p.m. The fire subsequently spread to a ground-floor shop and the building’s stairwell, with smoke filling the corridors.
Firefighters mounted a large-scale operation to contain the flames. A total of 109 personnel were mobilized, deploying three hoses and 25 fire trucks. Authorities have confirmed that the fire has now been extinguished.
